The Mentawai Islands are famous for perfect waves, its tropical surroundings and consistency of swell.
During the dry season (May through October), larger numbers of longtime surfers fly to the islands in search of perfect waves and long tubes. However the "low season" also provides some amazing opportunities with less people in the area.
When's the trip?
We chose December in the "shoulder season" for our trip because many of the boats are finished and doing maintenance plus a lot of the camps are closed or mostly empty and it's a great environment for intermediate (+) surfers to improve their skills in uncrowded conditions. Medium-sized waves plus less competition in the lineups will allow you to practice new skills, advance your surfing level , enjoy a variety of breaks, and the beauty of this amazing part of Indonesia.
Where are we going to live?
This will be a trip like no other! We will be cruising on a luxury charter boat for 10 days 11 nights among Mentawai Islands. This time period is the least crowded for boats and camps in the Mentawai , a perfect opportunity to get quality coaching at some uncrowded breaks in paradise. We will wake up each morning right in front of the surf spots and breaking waves. This boat was thought thru in every single detail to offer our guests the ultimate level in comfort and style on board a surf charter.
6 cabins arranged for two guests in individual single beds. You will also find enough plugs to charge all your devices at the side of your bed and your own cabinet to store your personal items.
The living room hosts everyone in great comfort and style. The main room is equipped with a 50″ LCD TV and other gadgets with a huge lounge sofa to chill out and recover from the sun and surf. Star Koat 2 is the ultimate surf charter boat.

The surf level for this camp
This camp is suitable for confident INTERMEDIATE and above surfers who want to improve skills such as speed generation, speed management, and learn to do better, more precise turns. We will show you how to "achieve more by doing less" .
Having your own board (or two) is a must. Suitable boards - mid length or a short board, that you are able to paddle on and control well.
Required skills: (minimum) you should be able to understand basic positioning in the line-up, catch waves on your own, have confident pop up and turn to the open face of the wave. Even if you are well above this level that is fine, you will still be suited to this trip and our coaching will benefit you.
